Movement includes not only movement of the body in space—the movement of the skeleton and muscles—but also the movement of thinking, emotion, and feelings. All action involves movement in all aspects of the self.

Accelerate Change With NeuroMovement® Functional Synthesis

What is a Functional Synthesis Lesson?

A Functional Synthesis (FS) Lesson is a one-on-one personalized session where a practitioner guides you through gentle, mindful movements to help your brain activate its natural ability to create new connections. This process helps improve how you move, think, and feel, unlocking greater physical and mental potential for everyday life.

  • Each FS lesson is a customized, hands-on session with a certified practitioner, tailored to your specific needs and goals.

  • You’ll relax, fully clothed, on a firmly padded table (or other comfortable surface), while your practitioner gently guides you through subtle, non-invasive movements.

  • Sessions last about 35–45 minutes, with extra time for reflection and integration.

  • Clients are encouraged to complete a Series of lessons (2-3+ consecutive lessons) to maximize neuroplastic benefits.

What to Expect:

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement, and bring socks for your feet.

  • Each lesson is tailored to your comfort and individual needs. No two lessons are the same, and each builds on the last.

  • You’ll be gently guided to notice your sensations and experiences, supporting your brain’s natural learning process.

  • Many people notice improvements in ease, coordination, and overall well-being after just a few lessons.

  • After your session, allow yourself time to rest and integrate the changes. Avoid strenuous activity a minimum of 24 hours.

About Kelly

I'm a certified Anat Baniel Method® NeuroMovement® practitioner supporting adults, children, and individuals with special needs through movement, touch, and the science of neuroplasticity. My journey with NeuroMovement® began through my own healing – overcoming chronic hip and back pain with this remarkable approach!

I'm passionate about helping people find clarity, reduce pain, and move with greater ease and confidence. I believe healing begins with connection – first to oneself, then to others, and then most poignantly to the potential within oneself.

Before becoming a practitioner, I worked in professional development and recruiting, creating programs that helped others learn, grow, and navigate their careers with purpose. That same love for growth and human potential now inspires my NeuroMovement® work.

Growing up as an athlete, I've long appreciated how physical movement shapes vitality and well-being. I've shared this passion through volunteer coaching and celebrating movement as a path to confidence, resilience and connection.

As a parent, I understand the ever-changing challenges families face and bring compassion and patience to my practice. I offer a welcoming space where clients can explore their capacity for change, harness the brain's adaptability, and find greater freedom in movement and life.

Neuro Explorations caters to individuals of all ages, from infants to adults, addressing a wide range of support needs to enhance brain effectiveness and purposefulness of action.

  • I highly recommend Kelly at Neuro Explorations! I was having some stiffness in my neck and back - through her "less is more" approach, I was able to feel relief in just 2 visits. It's easy to push our bodies when we feel stiff and tight but through these minimal movements and really focusing on the brain/body connection, you realize that you don't have to do much to get things to relax and work as they should!

  • After several years of continuous pain in my neck and shoulder and weeks of physical therapy with no results, it was suggested by a health professional I try another alternative, called NeuroMovement. The continuous pain I was experiencing interfered with my basic daily activity and made me feel much older than my true age. At first I was very skeptical and unaware of what NeuroMovement was all about, but agreed to make an appointment with a NeuroMovement practitioner. At my first appointment, I met with Kelly Marcin. She explained the NeuroMovement concept and how doing slow movements on my body can enhance new brain connections to help overcome pain. My reaction after several sessions can only be described as “enlightened”. I was totally blown away that my pain had greatly diminished, and days I had no pain!  Simple movements that can rewire the brain has helped me be more aware of my body when it comes to bending, lifting, twisting, reaching, and just rising from a chair or bed. The videos that Kelly sent me have also been extremely helpful and helps to keep me on track. I can’t say enough about Kelly and her training as a NeuroMovement Practitioner.  She has helped me overcome the chronic pain that I’ve lived with for so many years.  Thank you so much Kelly!

  • I recently had the opportunity to do a 3-lesson Series with Kelly at Neuro Explorations. This was an experience unlike I’ve ever had with any other wellness practitioner. Kelly’s approach was not only gentle, but extremely thoughtful, intentional, and effective!  Kelly took her time to explore and understand my movement patterns, how I felt, and what I most needed out of each session.  She helped me to connect and attune to my body in a way no other modality has done, all with very light touch and gentle movements.  As someone who is used to being in motion constantly in the midst of the work day and even doing intense workouts,  this approach was It was truly refreshing!

Slowing down and paying attention to my body helped me realize that I have been tolerating “minor” aches, pain, and stiffness, treating them as a “normal” part of daily life and aging, when really they do not have to be.

The best part was realizing that staying healthy and strong do not always necessitate fast, intense, or rough movements or interventions. Sometimes the body can strengthen and recover more fully when we introduce awareness, intention, and gentle experimentation, allowing the brain and the body to truly connect and work  in unison.

I continue to practice and experiment with all sorts of movement, being kinder to my body, and I feel good to know that this is improving my posture, alignment, bone strength, flexibility, and overall sense of wellbeing. Thank you Kelly!
